Maximum glazing to the southerly orientated garden facades of 2 Eco houses in Contin. Much of the space heating is via passive solar gain and a wood-burning stove, coupled with Solar thermal panels, PV panels and a heat recovery system for the provision of domestic hot water.

Featuring in a Scottish Government 'Reducing Emissions' report, this low energy house optimises passive solar gain with large SW facing glazing. The house incorporates high levels of insulation and air tightness along with a heat recovery system to avoid the need for a conventional central heating system. Space heating is via a centrally located wood burning stove with PV panels and a Mechanical Heat Recovery System supplying domestic hot water.
